Some of you are aware of the recent drama that somebody made by saying I accused her of art theft. If you are *not* aware of this affair, then please don't mind this post.
No name calling, please, I honestly think this affair generated way too much drama already.
I wouldn't even mention it in here if this person hadn't distorted my words, deleted my comment in her journal where I explained my point of view and then blocked me from her page (so yeah, it's not like I have other places to write in).
I do not think this person stole the picture in question. I don't think this is a case of "art theft", and I certainly never said that I "considered that she had ripped off my entire concept, realisation and style", that's just beyond ridiculous.
I repeatedly told her that
I didn't mind. I never asked her to delete a single work from her gallery, let alone close her account - actually I told her I didn't mind if she kept the work in question in her gallery.
I have no idea how I could have more distinctly worded this idea.
The interesting thing in this whole affair is that, unlike what she claimed on several occasions, nobody ever said that the picture similar to hers is
[link] . The problem, as she purposefully "forgot" to mention, was with an old sketch published on my blog only :
[link] . Whether or not her character was referenced from this picture is, I believe, a sterile debate since she deleted her work. Either way, if it was, I personnally think it's just that : referenced for the body and some details. Certainly not copied, stolen, or anything reprehensible. And if it was referenced, I wouldn't mind : as I've said here many times, I don't mind people referencing my work. So where is there any place for drama in here?
This whole situation is completely surreal from my point of view. How exactly I can be looking like a paranoid psycho for screaming at the top of my voice that I don't consider her picture to be a rip-off is beyond my understanding. Talk about reversing situations, much.
I can only guess that it was much easier to make herself look like the prosecuted victim of the meanie popular deviant, than to admit having lied about which works were being compared and letting people judge for themselves with the actual pictures.
Hopefully we're done with all that drama now.
