Getting back to drawing after almost two months without touching a pencil... xD;; My anatomy skills, which were not glorious back then, have a bit suffered of this lack of activity... It took me a long time to make the body look not *too* wonky. I'm not too sure whether I like this one or not... I like the original, but it's quite different from this version. Firstly, it's a lot bigger, here you only see about 2/3 of the picture, there are many more hearts above the character and the picture continues on the right. But it wouldn't fit in my scanner, and anyway, secondly, the scanner pretty much killed it anyway. [By he way, if anyone knows a good scanner for traditional drawings, at least A3-sized, please let me know by all means because I'm growing sick of my own that kills pretty much everything I draw xD;; ...] The original has a soft yellow/orange background made with pencils, but my scanner doesn't pick soft shades in pencils and only brings out the darkest strokes, which just look like ugly, badly coloured pencil tracks on the scanned version. So I had to erase them all and I added a pseudo-background in Photoshop. It doesn't look awesome, but I quite like the pop look of it, actually. For the little story: most of the 'blood' drops are completely unintended. I tugged too hard on the cap of my red marker and literally tore out the tips, revealing the piece of foam soaked with ink inside xD;; ... and red ink splashed all over the lower part of the sheet. Luckily enough, there as no big drop on the drawing itself, and I only had to erase a few in Photochop. ^_^;; I will make this one available only as small prints and postcards, because I don't feel that the large version looks good enough for large prints. Just so that you'll know. [Made with Staedtler pigment liners, Pantone markers, pencils.] |
