Title inspired from Alexandre Dumas fils's theater play, 'La Dame aux Camélias', which litterally means 'The Lady with Camelias', but I think the English title is 'Camille', which happens to be.... my first name.
So yes.... the flowers are camelias, not roses.
I was just taking a little break from commissions, and trying out a few new things.
I must say I pretty like it. I like the way the very very faint colours (yes, full-view and you'll notice it is not just tones of grey) work together.
Very art-nouveau, very retro, very unlike my usual stuff, but I like it!
I was clever enough to scan it BEFORE I tried adding a gradient background... which didn't come out too well, so you have the backgroundless version here (I added little star/flakes things to make it look less boring).
Enjoy!
[Made with Staedtler pigment liners, Pantone Tria markers, colour pencils, Photoshop 7.0 for minor adjustments.] [DO NOT use, copy, reproduce or redistribute. See my Journal for more informations.]
pretty ^__^ the colors work very well together - even though you maybe shouldn't add the little fluffy flake thingylis whatever they are - it would have worked also - I think, but just my opinion.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
